12 Days old!

Hi Everyone!
Happy to say that Eli is thriving and growing! He was 7 lbs, 11 oz. on Friday (11 days), having gained all of the lost weight back ~ plus an ounce! I've gone into town with him a few times, and he gets lot of compliments on how cute he is!!! Do I sound like a gloating new mother??? I AM!

The whole family took a trip into Grand Teton National Park on Saturday, grabbed some lunch at Leeks Marina, then stopped by Jenny Lake... some pictures are below!

8 Days Old.... Already!

We've had a great first week! Eli is sleeping and eating well, and for the last 2 nights has only woken up once, allowing us a better night's sleep. He has gained back a good portion of the weight he lost and now weighs 7 lbs. 6 oz. (he was 7lbs. 10 oz. at birth, and dropped to 6 lbs. 15 oz. when we were discharged). His jaundice seems all but gone, and his umbilical cord stump fell off last night!

Eli's facial expressions are changing, and he now makes cute little smiles at us.... just gas I'm sure but so fun to look at all the same. We've nicknamed him "Yogi" for now, as he contorts himself in positions that look like he's practicing Yoga!

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Nonni and Opa (a.k.a. Eileen and Fred) on September 2., and we know they are anxiously awaiting getting here. Auntie Lizzy has threatened to get in her car and drive out here to see her new nephew, but I think she'll hold off till their planned trip in October with Uncle Jay and Uncle Mike.

Some new pictures are posted below. Enjoy!

Welcoming Eli Owen LaClair!!!

For those who haven't heard, either via Facebook or through one or more elated grandparent, our little boy has arrived!

Although we were expecting him to arrive early, he took us a bit by surprise this past Monday, and came almost 4 weeks early. Despite his prematurity, he weighed in at a healthy 7 lbs., 10 oz., 20 inches long, and is doing great!

I consider myself among the lucky few to have a relatively short labor and delivery. I woke up with a couple of contractions at about 1:00 am on Monday morning, then my water broke. We checked into the hospital at 3:30 am and he popped out at 8:40 am.

A few picture are below, and more will be posted in the coming days/weeks/months, as we are thrilled to show off our little guy....he is a great baby so far and is super cute....now we just need to decide who he looks like!

Our love to all of you!

Eli Updates!!

Well, our Doctor has confirmed that Eli is measuring big. Our 35 week appointment on Tuesday (8/4/09) indicated that I was measuring 38 cm. That's the height of my uterus, and should be closer to the number of weeks along we are. She said she'd be surprised if we made it to my due date, so stay tuned!

I have another baby shower on Sunday, 8/9. My dear friend Faith, her husband Shane, and their adorable 10 month old little girl Scarlett flew up from Denver on Thursday to visit and host the shower! We've been enjoying catching up and playing with Scarlett... getting in a little baby practice! We've also been excited to see how well Ruger (the dog!) behaves with her... he is super tolerant of her and really gentle.... phew! Will post some pictures after the shower!

Hope this finds everyone well!
